Wise Resources Limited is a consulting company specializing in coaching senior level executives in multinational organizations.  We started this work in 2002 and have seen the demand for coaching grow consistently over time, with increasing demand each year for high-level coaching services.

We coach senior managers and leaders who are targeted for more senior roles in their organizations, who have taken on new and more challenging assignments and who want to examine and improve their leadership skills.

Linda E. Laddin, our founder and principal consultant, has over twenty years of experience in learning and development in multinational organizations with a concentration in financial services firms.  As part of her corporate work, Linda has been coaching since before it was called coaching.  She has been a full-time coach since 2002. 

Linda specializes in coaching leaders on self-awareness, self-management, effective communication, managing others and presence, all part of managing and leading others. 

"Since 1981 when I moved to Asia, my work has been focused on helping people to learn and grow in skills and confidence. My earlier interests in intercultural learning and communication have evolved into a focus on the common challenges and opportunities faced by managers and leaders across cultures.  Instead of addressing purely culture-based solutions, I now focus on helping people find choices and solutions by seeking to understand themselves and the people around them, and to examine their own values and behaviours.  After years in corporate learning and development, working with teams and business groups, I now concentrate on individual leaders and their impact on their colleagues and their organizations.  My overall purpose in my coaching work is to help people learn to lead and manage others with conscience courage and compassion.  I believe that such leadership brings out the best human and business results."

Most of our work with clients is on leadership, management, communication skills, and self-mastery.  We have helped leaders to identify and change behaviours and attitudes that were interfering with their effectiveness or limiting their scope in the organization.  These have included personal and interpersonal behaviours, the use of grounded and ungrounded assumptions for decision-making and negotiating, attitudes toward conflict and conflict resolution, having difficult conversations when coaching direct reports, creating a trusting work climate, managerial courage when making tough decisions, managing up effectively, building lasting relationships with peers and clients, setting expectations and standards for staff behaviour and performance, setting and maintaining personal boundaries for time management, self- and perception management through increased self-awareness and self-control, and other related behaviours and mindsets.  

We can’t change anyone, but we can help people change themselves.  If people are open to self-examination and willing to consider changing, then our responsibility is to help them do so.  We don’t accept coaching assignments when we feel that either the fit is not good or that the person doesn’t meet our readiness factors for coaching.  Collecting pre- and post-coaching feedback helps us and the organization to assess the effectiveness of the coaching.  At the end of a coaching engagement, we send a feedback questionnaire to our clients, asking them to return it directly to the HR/learning professional, not to us.  We ask our client organizations for feedback about our coaching work."
